Lot's to discuss about this new deck...

It's been a while but I've emerged from my hidey hole to post some updates about this deck.

The TLDR: I plan to finish and fund this deck this year and it's actually both a tarot and playing card deck.

Infernal is a complete overhaul of a deck I made in 2021 that was only availible in sticker form. I always wanted to go back and refine the concept of Dante's Inferno in the 2020s and the time just feels right for it.

Last year I felt so much pressure to get it done ASAP. Crowdfunding is the way I make money to support myself so not being able to do one last year was tough on the ol' bank account.

Tariffs really messed with that. I didn't want to crowd fund and then have to charge people a bunch of money to get decks into the country and there was a moment there where the tariff was like over 100% of the cost of the item which is insane. Right now things are ok and it seems like in general I can at least crowdfund with a finished deck and then have it printed right after the funding period ends which means the room for drastic change is slightly lower.

Then in October 2025 I went on some research missions including one trip to Charlotte, North Carolina for 52 Plus Joker, a card playing conference. I discovered the world of collectable playing cards and decided I had to make something. I also met some amazing manufacturers and artists there... it was so inspiring.

Based on that experience, I want to make Infernal both a playing card deck AND a tarot deck which I am doing simultaneously. Here's some images of what I'm working on. I don't have a target date for launch yet but I'm almost half way done with the images!
